A local woman didn’t quite make her 110th birthday. Gertie Hart passed away yesterday. Her son Bruce says she died peacefully.

Hart spent the majority of her life in cottage country, but did move away for a few years. The Moose spent some time with Hart at her birthday party, last year, where she told us Almaguin was home.

Hart leaves behind three children, 10 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held this Sunday at Opatovsky Funeral Home, 210 Ontario Street in Burk’s Falls from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm. The funeral service will be held at Katrine United Church on Monday at 11:00am. Hart would have been 110-years-old on April 10th.
