Parry Sound hosting Ontario Police Curling Championships

Police from across the province will be throwing rocks in Parry Sound next week.  The Ontario Police Curling Championships are being held at the Parry Sound Curling Club from Wednesday until Sunday next week.  Eight teams of police officers from across the province will compete for the title of Team Ontario with the winner to represent Ontario at the Police Curling National Championships held in Manitoba in March 2014.  The opening ceremonies and customary “throwing of the first rock” will take place at 10:00am on the Wednesday and the Championship Game is scheduled for the following Sunday at 1:00pm.  In addition to the competitive tournament, there will be a Police Fun Spiel where 6 non-competitive teams will play each other and the team with the most points will also play a championship game on Sunday.  The club is open and the event is free to spectators.  You can also check out the police curling website at www.policecurling.ca/policecurling/ontario/
