Our regional Crime Stoppers division had another successful year. The 2013 statistic show that anonymous tips received over the past year led police to the recovery of more than $1.5 million worth of illegal drugs and the arrest of 49 persons in the North Bay Parry Sound area. Anyone with information about any criminal activity can leave an anonymous tip by calling 1-800-222- TIPS (8477), filling out the encrypted online tip form on the website, or by texting ‘NIPPER’ followed by the tip information to CRIMES (274637). January is Crime Stoppers month and this year’s theme is “Re-inventing for the Future” as the organization continues update systems to provide complete anonymity for those leaving tips.
