Icy weather expected to remain south of Parry Sound

A special weather statement continues for the Midland, Coldwater, Orr Lake area.  Environment Canada says the major ice storm over the weekend has come to an end, but the ice it left combined with well below freezing temperatures will have an impact on the regions for the next few days.  The ice storm left anywhere from 10 to 30 millimetres of ice on surfaces and trees and regions to the south of Parry Sound can expect colder temperatures with northwesterly winds 20 km/h today.  Temperatures will fall even further tonight and continue through the rest of the week and as a result much of the ice will not melt and will likely remain on many surfaces for the next several days.  If you’re driving to Barrie over the next couple of days, drive safe and roads may be slippery.
