Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP Norm Miller is stepping up for a couple in Gravenhurst. Nelson and Cathy Samuel are facing nearly $20,000 in medical expenses after Nelson was airlifted to Vancouver from Whitehorse to receive needed surgery on his knee. Miller says even though the Samuels cleared it with OHIP, they did not end up covering the cost of the medivac transfer.
Miller says he was reasonably pleased with the minister’s response.
He says he’s glad the case will be reviewed so this doesn’t happen again.
The Samuel’s bill has now been sent to a collection agency.
