Unpaid day off for teachers disguised as PD day

Tomorrow is not a PD day for teachers.  While elementary and secondary school students will not be going to school tomorrow, The Near North Secondary School Teacher’s Union President Glenn Hodgson explains that teachers won’t be either.

Hodgson says that Professional Development Days are designed to provide teachers with courses and training in order for them to be better in their profession.  But, tomorrow there will be no professional development going on as it is an unpaid day off and teachers will stay at home.  He says another similar unpaid day off for teachers could come on the day before March break unless teachers in individual school boards can schedule an unpaid day off ahead of time.
