Damage to MNRF hangar in Algonquin Park not a tornado

Environment Canada says the damage to an MNR hangar in Algonquin Park was a micro-burst, and not a tornado.  According to Warning Preparedness Meteorologist Geoff Coulson, the wind blew the doors in and did some damage to the roof of the plane hangar.  He also says their rating scale put the winds on the lowest end, meaning they were gusting up between 90 and 130 kilometers per hour, lasting a few minutes.  Coulson says typically if it’s a tornado, winds only last a few seconds. He says they have reports of damages to cottages, but haven’t been able to confirm the information.  There were no injuries that they’re aware of.
