Turtle Music Festival organizers are calling their event a success. A press release posted Monday says the weekend festival had a couple of last minute cancellations on Saturday, but the show went on with bands playing until midnight and everyone at the venue enjoyed themselves. The release continues to say that the Sunday headliner, I Mother Earth, completed a sound check in the morning and was ready to perform as scheduled until severe thunderstorms forced the day to end early. With the concert cancelled, I Mother Earth, Alert the Medic, Good Night Sunrise, and The Retrievers played an intimate show for festival ticket holders at a downtown bar. Organizers of the festival are thanking all “the bands that played, the amazing fans that came out, the security staff, West Parry Sound OPP, and Parry Sound EMS, plus the incredible volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and everyone that helped to make Turtle Music Festival a success”.
