Zoning by-law to allow Rock Crawl at the Deaf Camp gets approval

The Ontario Mission for the Deaf Camp has got their zoning by-law amendment.  At their regular meeting last night, Seguin Council approved the zoning by-law amendment to allow close to 64 hectares to be changed from Rural Zone to Camping Establishment Zone to allow for non-motorized off-road vehicles and outdoor recreational activities and additionally about 6 hectares within the lands to be used for a Motorized Vehicle Rock Crawl Competition.  The recorded vote had Councillors Dale Graves, Ted Collins, and Jack Hepworth and Mayor Bruce Gibbon in favour of the amendment with Councillors Rod Osbourne and Mario Buszynski opposed.  Council, in addition, has asked staff to look into an amendment to the Racing by-law passed in 2010 to include all forms of motorized vehicle racing and time trails should be included in the racing by-law.
