Seguin looking to advance with a working group meeting to discuss a municipal police force

Seguin council is looking to the next steps in a municipal police force.  Interest to move forward has been received from the Township of the Archipelago, McKellar, and Whitestone with Carling waiting until the fall to make a decision.  Council agreed to reach out to Carling to see if they would be interested in attending a working group meeting of interested municipalities before making a decision.  Gibbon outlined three items that should be on that meeting’s agenda; a review of the scenario for all interest municipalities, cost of an update of Mitchell’s report and how much each municipality would pay, and some basic principles for a future contract or agreement between municipalities.  Council will discuss the potential date of a meeting at their next council meeting on July 20th.
