Parry Sound celebrates Canada Day

The Town dock was packed to celebrate Canada’s 148th birthday.  Celebrations at the Stockey Centre were well attended and although it got a bit windy and cloudy in the late afternoon, it didn’t stop the wakeboard show or the skipping demonstration.  Mayor Jamie McGarvey hosted the opening ceremonies along with MP Tony Clement and MPP Norm Miller.  Clement presented the Town of Parry Sound with a Canadian flag and offered advice to everyone to help keep our country strong.

Miller presented the Town of Parry Sound with an Ontario flag and told the crowd what Canada Day is all about.

Then Mayor McGarvey presented a special letter to a couple of residents who were also celebrating birthdays.

The night finished off with a great 15 minute fireworks display over the harbour.
