Town of Parry Sound council meeting tonight

Town of Parry Sound council meets tonight.  The Mayor and councillors will hear four deputations including one from Bernadette and Erick Phillis from Seguin about a lack of public transportation in Parry Sound, one from Jim MacCoubrey regarding tree dedications, and another from Howard Wesley on his plan to transform Booth Street Park.  Later in the night, council will discuss a resolution to approve the plans presented by Wesley and they’ll also discuss a By-law to authorize the execution of a funding agreement with Industry Canada/FedNor for the development of a Regional Marketing Plan.  Also on the agenda is a direction for staff to work with the owner of the former Shell property to develop a joint marketing/promotion plan in an effort to attract development to the site, discussion on the EMS Operational Review, and a By-law to prohibit smoking in and within 20 metres from any entrance or exit of a building owned or leased by the Town of Parry Sound and in or with 20 metres of any municipal outdoor public place. plus more.  The meeting will take place in the council chambers of the town office beginning at 7:00pm.
