Local students taking part in ImagineNATIVE workshops

Students at Parry Sound High School got a special treat today.  This morning, they watched student produced videos and the award winning shorts from the ImagineNATIVE film festival 2014 in the library.  Six indigenous students from PSHS have been participating in this year’s imagineNative video-making youth workshop and have been engaged in a three day filming experience; working on writing, editing, re- editing re-edited and preparing for their film piece.  ImagineNative is a worldwide known indigenous multimedia arts education organization welcomed by our school and board to support the creation of youth work that express cultural, community and social relevance.  PSHS has three previous winning youth film makers, one film which has toured as far as France and one in their category amongst 600 other recipients.  For more information, visit www.imagineNative.org/home.
