Learn about local food initiative happening in Parry Sound

Many of the food initiatives in the Parry Sound area are coming under the same roof.  This Saturday from 9:30am until 1:30pm at the St. James United Church the many community groups involved in food initiatives will have displays set up for the public to gain information.  Booths will be set up from the Parry Sound Public Library, Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve, Salvation Army, Harvest Share, Humphrey School Take Action Group, Middle River Farms, and Warner’s Farms.  At 10:45am the health unit will be doing a presentation about the new Local Food Charter in Parry Sound.  Between 11:30 and 1:30 you can purchase a pottery bowl generously donated and created  by Northwinds Pottery students. All of the money raised goes towards the new community kitchens initiatives.  This is a great chance to get information about our local food system and our local food choices.
