Fire Danger Rating remains low but Fire Chief wants residents to be cautious

The Fire Danger Rating in the Parry Sound District remains low.  McDougall Fire Chief and District Fire Coordinator Brian Leduc says for residents to still remain cautious of burning this weekend.  Leduc says with the rapidly disappearing snow cover and the dry windy weather, a fire will run quickly on the surface fueled by the dead vegetation.  A low fire danger rating means there is no daytime burning without permission from your local fire department, but fires are allowed two hours before sunset until two hours before sunrise.
