Changing your clocks is a great time to also check your smoke and CO alarms

Don’t forget to turn ahead the clocks one hour this weekend.  Daylight Saving Time starts on Sunday and local firefighters are reminding residents to take this time to check the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.  McDougall Fire Chief Brian Leduc explains when everyone should be checking their alarms.

Leduc says to also check the C-O alarms, even though most are plugged in to wall.

He says to also check the age of your alarms.

Leduc says that working smoke alarms save lives; the lives of families and the lives of firefighters.  If you experience a fire in your home, working smoke alarms will better ensure that you will be standing on the curb when your Fire Department arrives.
