Town has been awarded more money to upgrade water systems

The Town of Parry Sound has received a $2,000,000 grant from the Ontario government.  The province is providing small, rural and northern municipalities with funding to build and repair critical infrastructure through the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund.  The funding is to replace water mains and upgrade the storm water sewer system and council will hear about what project the grant will be for at their regular meeting this coming Tuesday.  There were 78 approved projects for this fund including the Village of Burk’s Falls getting up to $1.98 million to replace the Yonge Street Bridge to improve vehicle safety and the Township of Armour getting up to $1.7 million to complete the replacement of the bridge over the Magnetawan River.
