Environment Canada confirms third tornado in Friday’s storm

Environment Canada is saying a third tornado touched town in cottage country during Friday’s storm.

The statement was released at 12:14 pm this afternoon.

The tornado touched down near Utterson, about 13 kilometres southwest of Huntsville.

Environment Canada says the tornado is being classified as an EF-1 tornado with wind speeds topping out around 160 km/h.

The tornado travelled a little over four kilometres before dissipating.

Two other tornadoes touched down in cottage country, one south of Huntsville, and the other to the Northeast.

Most of Central Ontario was affected by last Friday’s severe weather.

Parry Sound was issued a tornado warning Friday afternoon, but no tornadoes have been confirmed inside the district.
