A local fundraising event is celebrating after breaking a milestone.
Pedaling for Parkinson’s has announced that its total fundraising efforts has now reached over $1 million. Pedaling for Parkinson’s is an annual cycling event in Parry Sound that started in 2011. The last ride took place earlier this month, and brought hundreds of cyclists to the Parry Sound area.
Event organizer Peter Istvan had said he didn’t expect to see the event reach the million dollar mark until next year, but donations kept coming in after the event was over.
All money raised goes to the Parkinson’s Research grant.
Next year’s Pedaling for Parkinson’s is scheduled for July 13 – 15. Registration dates will be announced this fall.
