Four men charged for illegal hunting practices

Four Ontario Men are being fined for illegal moose hunting.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry handed a total of $9,500 in fines to the men for hunting without licenses, and then making false statements to a conservation officer. One of the men, from Sprucedale, was also fined for possessing and transporting unlawfully killed wildlife.

According to the MNRF two of the men found out about a moose near Stisted Road in Sprucedale last October. They found the moose, shot and killed it. The other two helped move the moose out of the woods, then butchered it at one of their homes.

On top of their fines, the MNRF took their firearms and banned them from hunting for two years.

The case was heard in the Sundridge court house on July 6.
