An ongoing issue in northern Ontario is back at Queen’s Park.
Norm Miller, MPP for Parry Sound-Muskoka was asking acting Minister of Northern Development and Mines Bill Mauro on steps the government is taking to develop roadways to the Ring of Fire in Northern Ontario.
He says the government is happy to talk about the project, but can’t back those words up with results.
Miller says Mauro refused to answer his question and instead changed the subject entirely.
He added the development of the Ring of Fire is important for Northern Ontario’s economic future.
In a statement Mauro said the Premier has always been clear with her one- billion dollar commitment for infrastructure in the Ring of Fire.
He also says the government is working alongside First Nation communities on developing transportation infrastructure and community readiness.
