Grade 10 Literacy Test to be written in March after online trial fails

Student in Ontario will not have to write the Grade 10 Literacy test until March.

Yesterday’s online trial of the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test failed due to widespread technical issues with the network.

Some students completed the test yesterday with others only getting partway through before the system crashed.  The Education Quality and Accountability Office apologizes for the failed attempt to conduct the test online and all students will write the test in March in a pen-and-paper format.

The EQAO says the outcome was not what we hoped for and because of the widespread nature of the issue, they do not yet know the implications on scoring and reporting.
