MNRF stepping up enforcement as deer hunting season approaches

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is making sure hunters are staying safe as the season approaches this year.

The MNRF says Conservation Officers will be out in full force and is reminding hunters fines can range from $100 to up to $25,000 in extreme cases, including suspension of licenses.  Visibility is a major factor and hunters must be wearing solid hunter orange, including a solid orange hat and have at least 2,500 square centimeters of the colour showing above the waist.

The MNRF is also reminding hunters its C.O.s have the authority to confiscate and fine hunters under the Liquor License Act.
