A new Detachment Commander has been selected for the West Parry Sound OPP. Sergeant Mike Gordon has been promoted to Staff Sergeant and assumed the Detachment Commander role on September 12th. Staff Sergeant Gordon has been a member of the OPP for over 29 years and brings a wide array of experience to the position. Gordon says as a seasonal property owner, his family has been coming to Parry Sound for 28 years and he’s honoured to have been selected as the new Detachment Commander for the West Parry Sound Detachment. Along with a wealth of experience and training, he has also taken part in many OPP operations including the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, the G20 Summit, and the 2015 Toronto Pan Am Games.
