Staff in Seguin ordered to look into a public boat launch on Star Lake

Seguin Township is looking into a boat launch on Star Lake.

After months of residents and cottagers relying on the kindness of their neighbours to get their boats on and off the lake, the Star Lake Woods Cottager’s Association has got the ball rolling on a new public boat launch.

Association spokesman Brain Spiteri spent time researching township boat launches and property around Star Lake.  As a result, Spiteri asked council to look into the property between 449 and 455 Star Lake Road.  That site was originally rejected a by the township because the entrance to the lot was thought to be too dangerous.  He says compared to other boat launches in the township, that site is actually safer to access.

Council voted to have staff bring back a report on the cost to develop a public boat launch on that site.
