Seguin has heard a request to have some of their lands annexed by the Town of Parry Sound

A request from a Seguin resident to have their property become part of the Town of Parry Sound has been heard by council.  Yesterday morning, George Stivrins spoke to council to ask if they would approve a land transfer to the town to make it easier to develop his lands.  Councillor Mario Buszynski noted that he was in favour of the transfer dependent on developing happening and not just more land for the town.  Stivrins assured council that he is in talks with a couple of developers, but couldn’t go into any detail just yet.

Councillor Jack Hepworth’s only one concern with the request is that it would create awkward boundary lines in that area.  Stivrins told council that he can’t speak for other property owners in the area, but said many of them are not opposed to becoming part of the town, they just aren’t actively seeking a transfer.

He and his business partner Mike Reeves spoke to town council earlier this month and they seemed in favour of the transfer.  The two municipalities will now have to discuss the transfer and come up with a deal that works for everyone.
