A London man has been charged after failing to provide a sample at a R.I.D.E. Check. West Parry Sound OPP was conducting R.I.D.E. checks on Friday morning after 1:00am when a vehicle was stopped and the officer determined the 27-year-old driver had been drinking. He was arrested and charged with Fail or Refuse to provide a sample and Driving with an Open Container of Liquor. He’ll face his charges in a Parry Sound court next week while his driver’s licence is suspended for 90 days and the vehicle he was driving will be impounded for a week.
The OPP remind motorists that there is no safe amount of alcohol consumption when driving and anyone who suspects a driver that is driving while impaired is urged to call police by dialing 9-1-1 immediately.
