Police believe there is no more concern about cattle after Highway 69 crash

It seems as though there are no more cattle roaming along Highway 69 near Harris Lake.  A truck transporting 77 cows was involved in a multi vehicle crash on January 29th where many of the cattle were killed or gathered up, but there were some that got away.  West Parry Sound OPP Detachment Commander Staff Sergeant Ron Campbell says police and local trappers were trying their best to locate the stray animals.

Campbell says the Safety and Compliance Officer with the company responsible for the cattle sent a letter to the MNRF with instructions for people who find any of the cattle.

He says there haven’t been any sighting for a few days.

Anyone who finds any cattle in the area should contact the OPP and Jaguar MFG at 1-519-318-4980.  If you see stray cattle roaming the side of the highway, contact police as it’s a safety concern.
