A local snowshoe athlete will be competing at this year’s Special Olympics National Winter Games. Parry Sound’s Thomas Schweertman will compete in the snowshoeing event at the Games being held in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. The Games will take place from March 1st to 5th with over 800 athletes from across the country competing in seven sports; Alpine Skiing, Figure Skating, Curling, Speed Skating, Cross Country Skiing, Snowshoeing and Floor Hockey.
