Carling has been asked to support Treetops Community Forest in Parry Sound

Treetops Community Forest is reaching out to other municipalities for financial support.  After the Township of the Archipelago committed $10,000 over five years earlier this year, the group is asking other West Parry Sound municipalities for their support.  On Monday night, Greg Mason asked Carling council to consider donating to the cause as 10-15 students from Carling go to Parry Sound Public School and would get use out of the naturalized park.  Over the past ten months, the group has raised over $85,000 towards their goal of $200,000 which would allow for the purchase of the property, build a loop trail, post signage, and other costs.  They are continuing to ask all surrounding municipalities as well as writing proposals for government and other grants.
