A northern Ontario man is starting the conversation about splitting Ontario into two provinces. Trevor Holliday from Callander started a petition on change.org to have Ontario split into a northern province and a southern province which has received over 1,800 signatures since January 1st. Holliday believes the north will be able to be better served if the province was split up.
Holliday says he’s not the first on to think of it.
When asked where the split would happen, he says the current politics have a division line already.
He says that his goal is to bring the issue as far as he can and hopes that it will eventually end up in a vote among northern Ontario residents.
