Parry Sound District residents living with chronic heart failure or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease can be a part of a demonstration project. The Town of Parry Sound along with the West Parry Sound Health Centre and Future Health Services Inc. are working to deliver the project. It uses specialized in-home medical technology to monitor patients and connect them with a team of medical professionals. The technology monitors a patient’s vital signs daily and if warning signs show up, a local paramedic is automatically notified and checks-in on the patient before symptoms get worse. Patients selected for the study will be visited by a local paramedic who will set up the equipment in their home.
