The official start to the holiday shopping season kicks off this weekend, but the YMCA would like to help kick off a new trend. The local organization has partnered with Giving Tuesday to bring more awareness to the giving season. YMCAs in Parry Sound and Muskoka have pledged to try and raise $7000 which will go towards in house programs for families across the region. Organizers say you can pledge by donating, offering volunteer time or trying to get your local government and other organizations involved in Giving Tuesday.
