A new initiative to help newly diagnosed patients manage their symptoms is coming to Parry Sound. Parry Sound District EMS is bringing Remote Patient Monitoring to area residents to be more proactive in our health care system. Director of Emergency Services Dave Thompson says what remote monitoring is all about.
Thompson says equipment is installed in a patients home and depending on their condition, monitor their own vital signs.
He then explains how the program will help and how interested residents can get involved.
The goal of the program is to increase the quality of life of participants by reducing their ER visits, hospital admissions and emergency transports.
