It’s time once again for Parry Sound residents to roll up their sleeves. Canadian Blood Services is hosting a blood donor clinic next Thursday at the Knights of Columbus Hall from 1:00pm-2:30pm 4:00pm-7:30pm. It takes many donations to save a life, and every usable part of your donation goes to a patient in need. Every time you roll up a sleeve, your blood donation is separated into three components: red blood cells, platelets and plasma. It takes up to 50 units of blood to help someone in a car crash, five units to help someone in cancer treatment, and eight units a week to help someone with leukemia. If you’ve never donated before, go with a friend who has just like 43 percent of first time donors. To book you appointment, call 1-888-2-DONATE or go online at www.blood.ca.
